  1. Information on how to enter, mechanics of entry and prizes are included in these Terms and Conditions (“Conditions”). Entry into the ANZ Home Improvements Competition (“the Competition”) constitutes acceptance of these Conditions.
  2. The Promoter is Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (‘ANZ’) (ABN 11 005 357 522) of 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 (“Promoter”).
  3. Entry to the Competition is open to people who are residents of Australia aged 18 years or older (“Eligible Entrants”).  Employees of the Promoter and QBE Insurance Group Ltd (‘QBE’) (ABN 28 008 485 014), any of their related bodies corporate (and their immediate family), contractors, or any of the agencies directly associated with the Competition are not eligible to enter (and are excluded from the definition of Eligible Entrants).
  4. The Competition commences at 12.01am (AEDT) on 6 November 2017 and closes at 11:59pm (AEDT) on 31 December 2017 (“Competition Period”).
  5. The total prize pool is valued at AU$100,000. All amounts stated are in Australian dollars.  Prize supplier conditions apply (including term 11, below). The prize is valid to 24 January 2019, and subject to term 12 (below), any unused portion of the prize as of that date will be forfeited and no compensation will be given in lieu.
  6. The Competition consists of two (2) Prize Draws. Each Prize Draw will be made up of one (1) prize of $50,000.
  7. To be eligible to be entered in one of the Competition’s Prize Draws, an Eligible Entrant must during the Competition Period be an owner occupier of, or investor in, a property (which is not insured with ANZ Home or Landlord Insurance at the commencement of the Competition Period) and purchase one of the following insurance policies to insure that property:
    • ANZ Home Insurance policy - Buildings only, Contents only, or Buildings and Contents (Prize Draw 1), and/or
    • ANZ Landlord Insurance policy - Buildings only, Contents only, or Buildings and Contents (Prize Draw 2)

      at any ANZ branch, via phone on 13 16 14, or online at anz.com/home-improvements and be a current policy holder, with an effective policy, by the Competition close date and time (“Eligible Entry”). 
  8. Each Eligible Entrant is only permitted one entry per insurance policy in the applicable Prize Draw. However, if there is more than one person named on the insurance policy for the winning entry, the prize will be awarded to the first person named on the insurance policy. For a drawn Eligible Entrant to be deemed a winner and receive a prize, the insurance policy connected to the winning entry must be effective, in force, and have no payment in arrears at the time of the Prize Draw.
  9. The Promoter takes no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, illegible entries or delays or service disruptions with the website related to the Competition. Contact details entered incorrectly by an Eligible Entrant will be deemed an invalid entry. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the information provided in relation to an Eligible Entry and deem the Eligible Entry invalid if, in the opinion of the Promotor acting reasonably, any information is false, inaccurate, misleading or fraudulent. 
  10. There will be two (2) Prize Draws. All Eligible Entries received who have purchased a qualifying ANZ Home Insurance policy will be entered in Prize Draw 1, and all Eligible Entries received who have purchased a qualifying ANZ Landlord Insurance policy will be entered in Prize Draw 2. Both Prize Draws will take place at 2.00pm (AEDT) on 24 January 2018 at MDSA, 15 Grosvenor Street, Neutral Bay NSW 2089 (Prize Date). The 2 winners will be notified in writing by email and by phone within 2 business days of the Prize Draw, and their names will be published in the Public Notices Section of The Australian newspaper on 31 January 2018.
  11. The first Eligible Entry randomly selected in each Prize Draw will receive, from a QBE supplier, services and/or products towards home improvements to the value of $50,000.  The winners may choose one (1) or more of the following suppliers (where available) to fulfil their prize;

    • Good Guys
    • Choices Flooring
    • Bunnings
    • Super Retail Group
  12. If the prize is not used in full by 24 January 2019, the unused portion will be paid to the winner by eftpos giftcard up to a maximum of $5,000.
  13. The winning Eligible Entrant is responsible for any costs exceeding the $50,000 prize.
  14. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.  If a prize or element of a prize becomes unavailable, for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, then a comparable prize or prize element of equal or greater value will be awarded in lieu, subject to any written directions made under applicable State or Territory legislation.
  15. If either of the prizes remain unclaimed by 5.00pm (AEST) on 24 April 2018, the Promoter will conduct a re-draw at the same time and place as the original Prize Draw(s) on 8 May 2018 in order to award any prize(s), subject to any directions given under applicable law. Winner(s) in the unclaimed Prize Draw will be notified within two (2) business days of the redraw via the email address and phone number provided within their account. The name and location of the Prize winner(s) (if applicable) will be published in The Australian newspaper on 15 May 2018.
  16. The Promoter reserves the right to request a person whose name is drawn to produce appropriate identification and/or evidence to confirm the winner’s eligibility to enter this Competition and/or to claim a prize.
  17. Any tax on a prize is the responsibility of the winner.
  18. If for any reason the conduct or operation of the Competition is not capable of running as planned, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or recommence the Competition. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms at its sole discretion, subject to any permission required by relevant regulatory authorities.
  19. All of the Promoter's decisions in relation to all aspects of this Competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  20. A prize winner consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in any media at any time or times without compensation, financial or otherwise, for the purpose of promoting this Competition, the Promoter and/or any of the Promoter's products.

    Privacy and Marketing consent and disclosure

  21. As entry into the Promotion Competition occurs automatically, any person who does not wish to enter the Promotion Competition must advise the Promoter by calling 13 16 14 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm AEDT) and requesting that the person’s Eligible Entry be deemed invalid. On request, the Promoter will deem that person’s Eligible Entry invalid.
  22. Eligible Entrants’ personal information will be collected by or on behalf of the Promoter and QBE to enable the Promoter and QBE and their agencies to administer the Competition. Entrants agree that it is a condition of entry into this Competition that they must consent to being contacted by the Promoter and/or QBE. The personal information of prize winners may be provided to others assisting in the conduct of the Competition, including the Competition administrator, prize suppliers and deliverers and to regulatory authorities if requested. Entrants may contact the Promoter by calling 13 16 14 to request access to, or corrections of, any of their collected personal information. The collection, use disclosure and correction of all personal information, as well the Promoter’s complaints handling processes, are handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy available online at http://www.anz.com/auxiliary/help/help/website-security-privacy/, and QBE Insurance Group Privacy Policy available online at https://www.qbe.com.au/about/our-business/governance/privacy
  23. Entrants also consent to the storage of their personal information on the Promoter’s database so that the Promoter may use this information for the further primary purpose of future promotional and marketing purposes regarding the Promoter’s products and services via email, post and/or SMS.
  24. As a condition of entering this promotion, each Entrant consents to the Promoter and its external media partners using the Entrant's name, locality (including suburb and State or Territory of residence), likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media worldwide for an unlimited period of time without further notification, remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing the promotion (including any outcome), and/or promoting any products or services manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter. The Entrant agrees that the Entrant will participate in all reasonable promoted activities in relation to the promotion as requested by the Promoter and its agents and sign any additional documents reasonably required by the Promoter to give effect to this condition.
  25. The Promoter and other members of the ANZ Group of companies may send entrants information about its financial products and services from time to time.
  26. Entrants may unsubscribe from the Promoter’s marketing program at any time and/or request not to receive direct marketing communications by contacting the Promoter on 13 13 14.
