Important information Show more

1 If you receive a medical consultation for any illness or injury in the six months before you purchase the policy, and that illness or injury leads to a claim after the first six months after the policy commences, you will not be covered. Please see the ANZ Credit Card Insurance Product Disclosure Statement and Policy Document (PDS) for details.

2 There is no cover available for the Involuntary Unemployment Benefit or Disability Benefit if you are:

  • Working in a permanent part time capacity less than 10 hours a week, or
  • Self-employed or working in a casual, contract, seasonal or temporary capacity for less than 10 hours a week, or if you have not been in that same occupation on a continuous basis for 90 days.

Please see the PDS for details.

3 There is no cover if within 30 days of the policy commencing you are diagnosed with a critical illness or the symptoms leading to the critical illness become apparent.

4 We calculate your premium based on your cloasing balance on the date your statement is produced and is sent to you – not the due date for payment.

5 Total amount outstanding means the outstanding balance of your nominated credit card account, including any purchase or cash advance made by you before the claim event that has not yet appeared on your monthly statement for your nominated credit card account.

6 Life benefit pays out the total outstanding amount on the nominated credit card to a maximum of $50,000, if the death is accidental the maximum is $100,000. Customers are only eligible for one type of death benefit.

7 Our decision will be based on any person we are permitted to pay under the Life Insurance Act (which currently includes your spouse, de facto, child, parent or sibling, or a person who satisfies us that they are entitled to obtain probate of your Will).

*  The monthly amount payable for a valid claim may be less than the Income Benefit selected at the time of application, depending on your ‘pre-claim earnings’ and ‘other payments’. The maximum monthly benefit available depends on your occupation category at time of application, and is up to $10,000 for a standard risk occupation, and up to $3,000 for a special risk occupation. When you apply, we will class your occupation as standard risk or special risk. If you are classed by us as having a special risk occupation, your Income Benefit is not payable for a disability caused by the occupational duties you perform.

Your policy will cease if your credit card account is closed, in default or cancelled; you reach age 66; you no longer meet the eligibility requirements; your policy is cancelled; you die, we have paid a Total and Permanent Disability Benefit or the maximum amount of $50,000 is paid for one or more claims (excluding for the Accidental Death Benefit).
